have a question?

Can I eat prior to my surgery?

The surgery center will call you the day before with your arrival time and specific instructions.

Can I take my medication?

You may continue to take medications as prescribed by your physician. Diabetic patients will be instructed during your pre-op phone call on how to handle your medication. It is very important that you check with your surgeon and your primary physician if you are taking blood thinners. Together they will decide if you can stop your blood thinner.

What should I wear?

Loose fitting comfortable clothing is preferred. Please leave any valuables and jewelry at home. Do not wear clothing that must be removed over your head.

Do I need to bring anything with me the day of surgery and when should I arrive at the center for my procedure?

Bring with you a photo ID such as a driver's license and your insurance cards. When you arrive at the center the staff will review with you the consent for surgery, your financial responsibility, Advanced Directives, and other important information.

A member of our surgical team will call you one to two days prior to your scheduled surgical date and review pre-op instructions and answer any questions you may have.

Your surgeon's office will call you a day or two before your scheduled date and tell you the time that you are to arrive at the center. This will be approximately one to one and half hours before your scheduled surgery.

What can I expect after surgery is finished?

Immediately after surgery you will be taken to our post-operative area where you will be monitored by our clinical staff. You will be offered a drink and light snack.

You will receive written instruction on what you should do at home and you will be prepared for discharge from our center.

Can I drive home after the procedure?

New York State regulations and our policy dictate that you cannot drive home after a procedure. We recommend that you have someone with you at home after your surgery.
